The work

What hood cleaning covers

Hood cleaning deals with the part of the exhaust system your staff see every day: the canopy above the cooking line and, where the hood has them, the filters inside it. They are the first surfaces grease-laden air meets, so they are where deposits start.

  • The hood canopy above the cooking equipment
  • Filters, where the hood is fitted with them
  • Grease deposits where the vapour is captured
  • Hood filter service and replacement
  • The dish hood, where your kitchen has one
  • One-time service or a recurring schedule

Exhausted cleans with a degreaser-based, lower-pressure process, protects the kitchen equipment, contains the mess and mops out when the job is finished.

Beyond the hood

The hood is where the system starts

From the hood, the air travels through ductwork to the exhaust fan, and grease travels with it. A clean canopy over a greasy duct leaves most of the system untouched, so we look at the whole path.

Questions

Hood cleaning questions

Something else? Ask when you request a quote.

How often does my restaurant hood need to be cleaned?

It depends on how your kitchen operates and what an inspection finds. High-volume restaurants, charbroilers, wok cooking, 24-hour kitchens, and solid-fuel systems may require much more frequent inspection and cleaning than lower-volume commercial kitchens. Exhausted can help establish an appropriate service schedule based on the cooking operation, system condition, and applicable fire-safety requirements.

Do we have to close early for a hood cleaning?

No. The work can be booked after hours or overnight, so the kitchen does not have to close early just for the cleaning.

Do you clean only the hood?

The hood is where grease is captured, but grease-laden air carries on through the ductwork to the exhaust fan. We can clean and service the whole path; ask for the full system when you request a quote.

Is there a travel fee?

No. There is no travel fee for jobs.

Do you clean hoods for restaurant chains and multi-location groups?

Yes. Restaurant chains and multi-location groups are among the kitchens we serve, alongside independent restaurants. Each location can be quoted and booked around its own hours.

What do you need from me for a quote?

Four things: your name, the business name, a phone number and the city the kitchen is in. Tell us about the cooking line and your quiet hours when we call.
